Beautiful MOMIJI Spot

In 1375 the ENICHIJI Temple was established as a quasi-head temple of the Myoshinji Temple school of the Rinzai sect by the order of Hosokawa Yoshiyuki, a government official.
Its Hondo (main hall) built in the Irimoya style (building with a half-hipped roof) and Hiwadabuki (cypress bark roof) have been designated as cutural assets by the prefecture.
Moreover, its architecture with a bell house and traditional edifices such as abbot's chamber, monk's quarters, scripture house, and back gate are popular among architectual enthusiasts.
The site was registered as a national treasure in December 2014.
