The shrine was founded almost one thousand years ago and was destroyed by war afterwards, but was then rebuilt by Hideyoshi Toyotomi in 1585.
Now it is designated as a Important National Cultural Property.
A three storied pagoda, placed at the back of Hachiman Shrine was built in 1467.
The surviving building was rebuilt in 1813.
